Mr. Khalid is a PHD student supervised by Prof Hannan. Very experience person, well versed in his subject area.. from his explanation and the way he answered question, we know how passionate him in his works.
His majoring in network security - cyber crime, to date he has been writing about 26 research papers and journal! from Pakistan.
Since this seminar was held 1 month ago, forgive me if certain information given is not quite right. ;)
I tried to write as much as i jot down & could remember..
Honestly i was amazed with his works. He seem to be involved in many association related to security. Many new short forms learned from his speech.. certain i could not catch up the meaning, but sure i'll update again this post once i got the real meaning & time of course..

One of his experience he shared with us is when the PIA encounter a server down. First the staff thought it just a normal incident, so they just bring up the server again. However after a while, the server down again. and the bring up again. this happen few times until and at the end they realize that someone is hacking to the system.
They investigate the incident, bring the expert. later they will provide the error to Khalid team for further checking and solution. Usually in case like this, they will give an emergency remedy for temporary solution.
Once the actual problem has been identified, then only the permanent solution provided.
Khalid mentioned that his team consist of many certified ethical hackers for forensic investigations.
He did mentioned about PANDA security, which is the top 3 company in the world which provide security. he mentioned that this company use and provide dedicated signature to companies to prevent intrusion/virus.
He also advised us to be extra careful in installing pirate or free software. This kind of software is very open to virus and intrusion. We might not know that each time we type URL, it will perhaps send another 17 messages to many places. Hackers could insert any program so that all activities will be copied to them.
He advised us to read thru the agreement before click the 'YES' button.
At the end of his speech, he explain on his current project. He is currently doing research in VPN. his project basically about 'how to differentiate whether data or voice being send thru the VPN?'
he is currently looking for some volunteer for his R&D project.. quite interesting! ;) thats before he mentioned.. 'Very GOOD in PROGRAMMING'.. suddenly it destroyed my smile.. haha..
